>> 006 | My Omega Boss Can't Possibly Be This Cute??
[ If someone were to ask, Ajax would like to say that he was a hard worker despite being a "lowly" secretary. Sure, it was a position normally designated for either betas or omegas (and he'd had to say as much during his interview that he was, in fact, an alpha, and one on rut blockers on top of that so there was no risk at all of enticing an office filled with a mixture of betas and alphas or stirring up conflict with the saturation of alpha pheromones in an office full of territorial aggressors) but he couldn't possibly pass up a chance at working under CEO Zhongli, who had made the front page of several business magazines with his shrewd practice in negotiating contracts for his company. The man was practically a legend in the alpha world, the top dog of all of them. It was no wonder he was able to bring all the others to heel before him, alphas and betas alike bowing their head in submission before what was obviously their better.
To say he had a bit of admiration for the man was putting it lightly. Every single article that came out about Zhongli was painstakingly clipped and set with the rest of Ajax's memorabilia. He memorized the way Zhongli took his tea, the time he arrived at work and all of his preferences from the temperature he liked his office set to the number of pens he liked on his desk at any time. He made sure to keep Zhongli's favorite flowers at reception at all times, treasuring the precious moments when the man would smile fondly at them - and at Ajax by extension, he liked to think - before heading into his office with the redhead close at his heels to recite his schedule for the day.
It was in his sixth month of working in his new job that Ajax came to a startling revelation.
Despite the both of them being alphas, he had gone from being an awkward greenhorn with a crush to an experienced, highly capable secretary harboring an illicit love for his boss. It didn't matter that they were both alphas, he thought, but it was unfair that Zhongli was practically an omega in appearance but an alpha in biology. No alpha should smell that enticing, and after several panicked trips to the doctor to make sure his body hadn't suddenly decided to swap over to the makeup of an omega, he resigned himself to his fate.
His days continued filled with stolen glances at his boss and frantic runs to the bathroom to jerk himself off whenever he caught Zhongli bending over or else smiling at something on his phone. He thought about finding an omega to sate his desires, but with how busy he usually kept himself at work - even if Zhongli never asked it of him he made sure to keep himself available all the time, no matter the hour, even going so far as to give his boss his personal cell phone number in hopes that the impossibly dense man would take the hint - having a dating life that did not revolve around Zhongli was not something he wanted to do.
It's been about a week now, and he's been crunching hours for so long he's forgetting things. Things like putting grounds in the coffee, or else remembering to button up his shirt before he left work or even take his rut blockers. As a result he's a little more agitated when it comes to the other alphas, but given that the offices are spaced pretty far apart and people seldom come to visit him at reception - thank god for the power of emails and transferring calls - Ajax is left in relative peace.
He's got a message for Zhongli, and an urgent one. Well, maybe not so urgent - but he could never pass up an opportunity to spend more time with the man - and he'd laugh at how hard he was simping if he wasn't so deep into it. Ajax prepares a fresh pot of tea that he sets on a carrying tray, along with one of Zhongli's favorite teacups and a little plate of snacks to go with it. A single glaze lily standing upright in a thin, decorative vase completes the picture, and he carefully pushes the door of his office open with his hip as he enters, hoping that whatever conference call or meeting Zhongli in wasn't too important to mind his sudden entrance. ]
