[Silver's guard is down for one second, relief filtering through him when the boy turns away. he's about to shift and move while his head is turned - and then he's turning back and blowing smoke into his face.
giving an indignant noise, he waves off the smoke and hesitates slightly when he realises that it's not... good enough. something in the scent of it lingers, sinks into his lungs and pushes him to shudder. an ache builds in his body, burning and leaving him feeling uneasy, strange. before he can say anything, the Heartslabyul boy is gone.
it's. it's fine. he needs to get to Malleus, he reminds himself.
so he makes his way further on, climbing the stairs and trying to work this awful, pervasive feeling out of his system. once he's there, at least, it's not hard to find Malleus. sitting alone, watching people or just drinking, he's not sure. it doesn't really matter.
nor does it matter that his eyes are drawn first to the way his senior drinks, his tongue lapping ice cream and--]
